The ONAGRINE brand was created in 1981 following work done on evening primrose oil. So naturally, Laboratoires ONAGRINE began research on evening primrose with support from CRITT (regional innovation and technology transfer centers).

Dermatologist Yvon Gall assists Laboratoires ONAGRINE in selecting active ingredients from plants from extreme environments and in applying the molecules selected from these plants to human needs. In this way, ONAGRINE takes from the heart of plants, active ingredients which are in perfect harmony with the skin’s constituents, to protect and restore it.

Renowned fat-cell research specialist Professor Guidicelli also assists ONAGRINE research through his work on fat cells’ function and regulation mechanisms. ONAGRINE has created a patented, powerful anti-ageing complex called Onaphyline®.

Laboratoires ONAGRINE is also interested in other plants from extreme environments which, like the evening primrose, have developed natural biological defence systems to help them survive the difficult environmental conditions in which they live.

A study conducted by dermatologist Yvon Gall and Professor Mazau, botanist specialising in plants from tropical dry regions and arid zones, has demonstrated the similarity between the adaptation mechanisms used by these plants and those used by humans.

So, by drawing our inspiration from the mechanisms plants use to survive in their environment and by adapting their active ingredients in high-performance formulae, ONAGRINE can naturally and efficiently meet the special needs of ou skin in the 21st century.
